In La Régate leeft de vijftienjarige Alex in een dagelijkse hel met zijn loshandige vader. Hij vindt zijn uitlaatklep in het roeien. Sergi, zijn coach, en Muriel, het jonge meisje op wie hij verliefd is, zorgen dat hij zich weer menselijk voelt en hij zet zijn zinnen op de Belgische Kampioenschappen.
