Shape of Water grote winnaar Oscars

Nederlanders vallen buiten de prijzen

'The Shape of Water' van Guillermo del Toro heeft zondagnacht de Oscar voor de beste film gewonnen. Daarnaast won de 13 keer genomineerde film in de categorieën beste regisseur, beste soundtrack en beste vormgeving. Wij zetten alle winnaars voor je op een rijtje.

Andere belangrijke winnaars tijdens de 90e editie van de Oscars waren Frances McDormand en Gary Oldman, die de prijzen voor beste actrice en acteur wonnen. Frances McDormand voor haar hoofdrol in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri en Gary Oldman voor zijn rol als Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour.

Nederlandse genomineerden
De Nederlandse genomineerden vielen buiten de prijzen. Hoyte Van Hoytema was genomineerd voor zijn camerawerk in Dunkirk, maar in die categorie won Roger Deakins voor Blade Runner 2049.

Arjen Tuiten deed mee voor de prijs voor beste make-up voor zijn werk in Wonder, maar die ging naar Darkest Hour, waarin een onherkenbare Gary Oldman Winston Churchill vertolkte.

Loving Vincent, over de Nederlandse kunstschilder Vincent van Gogh, greep ook naast de prijzen. In de categorie 'beste animatie' won Coco.

Sam Rockwell won een Oscar voor zijn bijrol als racistische, psychopathische politieagent in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. De beste vrouwelijke bijrol was voor Allison Janney in I, Tonya.
