In En attendant Bojangles woont de jonge jongen Gary met zijn excentrieke ouders in een Parijse appartement. Thuis lijkt het altijd een feest en pa en ma dansen elke avond op Mr Bojangles. Maar zijn moeder daalt steeds dieper in haar eigen geest. Het is aan Gary en zijn vader om haar te beschermen.

Aanloop
Regisseur Régis Roinsard maakte eerder Populaire (2012), Romain Duris speelde ook in die film. Duris is beken van zijn rollen in Nos batailles (2018), The Great Darkened Days (2018), All the Money in the World (2017) en Une nouvelle amie (2014).
Virginie Efira is bekend van de publieksfilms Adieu les cons (2020), Police (2020), Sibyl (2019), Le Grand Bain (2018) en Elle (2016).

Synopsis distributeur
Camille (Virginie Efira) en Georges (Romain Duris) dansen door het leven op hun favoriete nummer Mr Bojangles. Samen met hun zoontje Gary leiden ze een onbezorgd bestaan vol fantasie, feesten en rare huisdieren in hun Parijse appartement. Voor wervelwind Camille is niks te gek en Georges volgt haar uit liefde in alle dromen en wilde plannen. Achter haar stralende verschijning schuilt ook een duistere kant die zich steeds vaker opdringt. Vader en zoon zetten alles op alles om hun wereld intact te houden. Maar als Camille op een dag te ver gaat, lukt het niet langer om de realiteit buiten de deur te houden.
