Lincoln de 'grote verliezer' met maar 1 Oscar

De gedoodverfde winnaars voor de Oscar voor beste regie Steven Spielberg voor Lincoln en Ben Affleck voor Argo moesten toch toezien hoe Ang Lee het beeldje pakte voor Life of Pi. De beste film werd Argo.

Lincoln werd met 12 nominaties toch niet de grote winnaar van de avond. Daniel Day Lewis pakt na Oscars voor My Left Foot 1989) en There Will Be Blood (2007) een derde Oscar voor Beste mannelijk hoofdrol. Bij de dames valt Jennifer Lawrence in de prijzen voor haar rol in Silver Linings Playbook.

Christoph Waltz profiteert wederom van de samenwerking met Quentin Tarantino en na zijn Oscar voor de beste mannelijke bijrol in Inglourious Basterds pakt hij ook voor Django Unchained het gouden beeldje. Bij de dames werd inderdaad, zoals verwacht, Anne Hathaway, winnares van de Oscar voor Beste vrouwelijke hoofdrol.
