In hun poging om als eersten de top van de Mount Everest te bereiken verdwenen George Mallory en Andrew Irvine in 1924 spoorloos. Het enige bewijs dat ze ooit de berg bedwongen zouden hebben, is via Mallory's fototoestel. De toevallige vondst van de camera, zeventig jaar later in Kathmandu, lokt journalist Fukamachi naar de top van de goden. Deze indrukwekkende film is gebaseerd op de succesvolle manga van Jiro Taniguchi en Baku Yumemakura, en is geïnspireerd op ware gebeurtenissen. Hij neemt de kijker mee op een spannend avontuur in het adembenemende landschap van de Himalaya.
